Two candidates are now in place for the pending by-election in District 11 Charlottetown-Parkdale.
Both the Liberals and Green Party held nomination meetings on Monday night.
Charlottetown Councillor Bob Doiron won the Liberal nomination over Marcia Carroll, the Executive Director of the Council of People with Disabilities. A total of 80 votes were cast, and Doiron came out the winner. Premier Wade Maclauchlan has not said when the by-election might be held to replace Doug Currie, who resigned over a week ago.
Winning the Green Party nomination was the party’s shadow critic on finance, Hannah Bell. Bell defeated Karla Bernard.
The Progressive Conservative Party will hold its nomination meeting Wednesday night.
