The Ottawa Senators finally have their first win of the season. Mark Stone scored in the fifth round of the shootout as Ottawa beat the Canucks 3-2 in Vancouver. The Vegas Golden Knights’ hot start continues. They scored four first-period goals, including three on their first five shots, en route to a 5-2 win over the Arizona Coyotes in their inaugural home opener.
Alex DeBrincat and the Chicago Blackhawks spoiled Montreal’s home opener with a 3-1 victory over the Canadiens.
Rain postponed Game 4 of the N-L Division Series between the Cubs and Nationals at Wrigley Field. The game will go Wednesday instead. Wednesday night, the Yankees and Cleveland play their Game 5.

Morell’s Stephen Anderson of the UNB Varsity Reds Men’s Hockey team has been named the Subway Atlantic University Sport male athlete of the week. He scored five goals in two games last week to lead the Varsity Reds to a 2-0 record to start the AUS hockey season.
University of New Hampshire freshman goaltender Ava Boutilier of Charlottetown was awarded Hockey East Defensive Player of the Week honours for her performance in her first two career games.
