The Yankees and Red Sox kept their postseason hopes alive on Sunday.
Both are trailing, 2-1 in the ALDS but stayed alive with wins at home.
New York blanked the Cleveland Indians, 1-0. Greg Bird homered in the 7th and Masahiro Tanaka struck out 7 through seven innings in a pitcher’s duel with Carlos Carrasco. Aroldis Chapman came on for the save retiring the last five Cleveland batters.
Boston ripped Houston, 10-3. Carlos Correa hit a 3-run homer in the 1st inning but that was it for the Astros scoring.
Rookie Rafael Devers homered and drove in 2 runs. Hanley Ramirez had 4 hits and 3 RBIs. Jackie Bradley Jr. hit a 3-run home run.

The Stratford A’s have forced a 7th and deciding game in the Kings County Baseball League finals with 7-6 come from behind victory over the Peakes Bombers.
Veteran Randy Taylor and Allister Smith drove in key runs in the 7th. Peakes led the series 3-0 but there will be deciding game this Sunday at 3.00 in Peakes.

A record setting day for Marc Campbell in the Atlantic Breeders Crown at Red Shores. He drove five winners and has 122 for the season in Charlottetown. Campbell also set a single season record for purse money with over $504-thousand. That passes the mark set by Kenny Arsenault in 2009. Best mile of the day was by Elm Grove Kaboom with Campbell behind in 1.54/1.
