It looks like work to finish the storm water replacement project at the Queens Arms intersection in Charlottetown will not be finished until the middle of the week.
Heavy rain Wednesday into Thursday caused a construction delay.
Work began to replace the storm water channel under the intersection of Capital Drive, North River Road and Lower Malpeque Road.
It’s one of the busiest intersections in the city.
Paul Johnston, the manager of infrastructure and assets Charlottetown says the heavy rain meant water had to be drained from trench that was built.
A heavy crane has laid boxes in the trench and the work also means filling in the huge hole, rebuilding and paving the road.
