On Monday in the House of Commons, Malpeque MP Wayne Easter introduced Bill S-236, with Egmont MP Bobby Morrissey serving as seconder.
The Senate bill moves to officially recognize Charlottetown as the Official Birthplace of Confederation, following the Charlottetown Conference of 1864.
PEI Senator Diane Griffin introduced the bill and got it through the Senate with unanimous support.
Easter says the legislation is an important part in celebrating our Confederation 150 years ago, and he looks forward to moving it through the House of Commons.
