Health PEI has named former CEO Keith Dewar as its interim CEO, effective October 30th.
Dewar takes over from current CEO Dr. Michael Mayne who will leave the position at the end of September. Dewar is expected to serve as interim CEO for approximately six months.
Health PEI Board Chair Phyllis Horne says the board recognizes that the search for a permanent CEO could take several months, so the decision was made to appoint an interim CEO to ensure stability.
Dewar returns to Prince Edward Island after five years as president and CEO of a health region in Regina.
Chief Operating Officer Denise Lewis Fleming will serve as acting CEO until Dewar begins his duties at the end of October.
