The Garden Home seniors home is taking extra steps to protect nursing home residents, staff, and visitors as an increased number of its residents have tested positive for the bacteria MRSA.
MRSA is most commonly spread by direct and indirect contact via the hands. So, everyone coming into the home, including visitors, are being asked to clean their hands before and after visiting the facility and a resident s room.
Staff at the Garden Home are working with the Chief Public Health Office and will continue to assess the situation.
Earlier this week there was word that five residents of Beach Grove Home had tested positive for M-R-S-A. Measures have also been put in place at Beach Grove as a result.
