Summerside’s Heather Moyse is making a comeback in the sport of a bobsleigh — a sport in which she has won two Olympic gold medals. She won her gold medals with Kaillie Humphries, but will be joining a young pilot in her comeback, eyeing what she can offer back to the sport in terms of development.
Corey Kluber threw a four-hitter as Cleveland joined the 2002 A’s, 1935 Chicago Cubs and 1916 New York Giants as the only teams to win at least 20 in a row in Major League Baseball history. Cleveland beat the Detroit Tigers 2-0.
Rookie shortstop Richard Urena singled home the winning run in the ninth inning and the Blue Jays rallied to beat Baltimore 3-2. Toronto has won four straight while the slumping Orioles have lost their sixth straight.
Elsewhere, Boston dumped Oakland 11-1, and Tampa Bay edged the N.Y. Yankees 2-1.
O’Leary Hockeyville conducted their Ticket Lottery Draws Tuesday for the NHL exhibition game at Credit Union Place on September 25th. There were three draws conducted for game tickets: residents, western and supporters.
There was also a draw for practice tickets for the two teams, New Jersey Devils and Ottawa Senators.
Men’s soccer player James Briand and women’s soccer player Katherine Drake are the Holland College Athletes of the Week. Briand was also named an ACAA athlete of the week.
