Last week, the province released tourism numbers that showed a record July for PEI…and now it’s the Tourism Cavendish Beach Association’s turn.
The Association says Cavendish and the Green Gables Shore region are continuing to show significant growth in all sectors, with camping leading the way for July. In July 2017, there were a total of more than 51-thousand fixed roof room nights and 90-thousand camping sites sold. That is an overall increase of almsot 25 % growth or nearly 30-thousand additional unit nights sold compared to the same month in 2014. It says much of the credit has to go to the campground operators who have all recently invested in upgrades.
The Association also says that industry sectors & PEI National Park operators have invested in the purchase and development of new properties, and re-invested significantly in current properties.
The Tourism Cavendish Beach Association is forecasting a record-breaking August and a strong September.
