Some strong tourism numbers for the month of July for PEI…..in fact record breaking numbers.
Tourism PEI says campground stays across the province helped big time.
There were 124-thousand campsite nights in July which was over 12 per cent better than July 2016.
Overnight stays increased by 5.3 per cent.
The Confederation Bridge and the Charlottetown Airport saw new records set in July.
Bridge traffic up by 2.5 per cent.
Airport traffic up by 9.9 per cent.
Northumberland Ferries also saw a jump of nearly 27 per cent compared tyo 2016 when only one boat was in service.
Golf rounds were down nearly 5 per cent in July.
