The total wager for last month’s fifth and final leg of the World Driving Championships at Red Shores in Charlottetown set a new record for Atlantic Canada.
The event on Friday, August 18th saw a massive total handle of more than $391-thousand. That’s a record for most money wagered in the history of Atlantic Canada on a single card of racing.
Adam Walsh, Race Manager at Red Shores, says the World Driving Championship handle far surpassed expectations.
Of that $391-thousand total, more than $205-thousand was bet internationally in New Zealand and Australia.
