A big jump in gas prices early Wednesday morning.
The Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission approved the unscheduled adjustment, which was an 8-cent per litre increase in gas prices.
So, including adjustments for taxes, pump prices for regular self-serve now range from $1.20 to $1.21 per litre.
Furnace and Stove Oil prices increased by 4 cents per litre, and diesel prices rose by 3 cents per litre.
IRAC says the impact of Hurricane Harvey continues to affect the supply and wholesale pricing of all three petroleum products, and that made the oprice increases necessary.
The Commission says it will continue to monitor wholesale pricing on a daily basis and meet again by week’s end to assess the situation.
