Hurricane Harvey is getting the blame for an overnight boost in gas prices on the island.
The Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission says Harvey has resulted in a reduction in the supply of gasoline, and the wholesale trading price of gasoline has jumped significantly.
So, as of midnight Friday morning, gasoline prices increased by 4 cents per litre. It means that pump prices for regular self-serve now range from $1.11 to $1.12 per litre.
There’s no change in the price of Furnace, Stove Oil or Diesel.
Propane prices increased by between 3.5 and 4.5 cents per litre, depending on the dealer.
