The Charlottetown Islanders won’t have their top pick from this year’s draft in the lineup this season. Brett Budgell has informed the team that he’s decided not to play for the Islanders this season, and is looking at other options. The team is still hopeful he’ll play for them in the future.

On Saturday afternoon, in their first competitive season and in front of a crowd of over 300 at Co-op field, Charlottetown Rugby Football Club won the women’s Nova Scotia 1st division Championship, beating the Halifax Tars 42-15.
