A 33-year old Charlottetown man is facing a number of charges stemming from an incident early Friday morning.
Shortly before 1:00am, Charlottetown Police received a complaint of an assault. They were told that a man broke into a residence, assaulted a man and woman, then left the scene in a vehicle.
That vehicle was stopped by police a short time later, and police determined the driver was impaired.
He was arrested for impaired driving, andf then after some investigation the suspect was also charged with break and enter, assault, and assault causing bodily harm.
Police say the female victim was knocked unconscious and had to be taken to the QEH for treatment. The victim’s injuries were not life threatening.
