Progressive Conservative Leadership hopeful Brad Trivers says problems with Seniors Housing Program wait lists, assessment process, and lack of a long-term plan are eroding confidence in government.
Trivers says Wednesday’s appearance by the Auditor General before the Public Accounts Committee confirmed that housing wait lists are inaccurate, incomplete and poorly managed; there’s no standard process for housing officers to verify income, assets, and housing costs when people apply; the housing assignment process is often subjective; and there’s no long-term plan to address the current and expected future demand for low income seniors housing.
Trivers says the number one issue he hears on the PC Leadership campaign trail is lack of trust, and he says this shows exactly why.
