The PEI Division of the Canadian Mental Health Association has shared its plan for the development of a suicide prevention strategy for PEI.
In April, the PEI government announced plans to partner with the Association on the creation of such a strategy.
CMHA has put together a team for the project, which is led by its Director of Programs and Policy, Amanda Brazil. That team has developed a work plan and some of the key steps involved. They include an environmental scan; research at the local, regional and national levels; and consultations with stakeholders.
The final report will include an accountability framework with progress indicators and a suggested implementation plan.
An email account has been set up so stakeholders can connect with the team, if they want to share information, research or other documentation. That email address is peisuicidepreventionstrategy@gmail.com
