Charlottetown MP Sean Casey announced infrastructure funding for five projects in the city to help community groups better serve the region.
Ottawa is investing over 382-thousand dollars in upgrades to recreational, cultural and social infrastructure in the Charlottetown area through it’s Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program.
Those projects include:
– $250,000 to the PEI Humane Society to redevelop areas of its facility to better serve animals and visitors;
– $79,439 to the Capital Area Recreation Inc. to convert underused space to spectator viewing, create a multi-purpose programming space, and upgrade a narrow staircase to improve safety and traffic flow;
– $29,325 to Holland College to renovate existing community space to enhance rehearsal and performance area;
– $15,000 to Carrefour de l’Isle-Saint-Jean inc. to reconfigure and renovate community space to increase functionality; and
– $8,500 to the Charlottetown Farmers Market Co-operative Association to replace indoor and outdoor lights with LED lighting to reduce energy consumption.
