A Sunday morning crash involving a bicycle sent one man to hospital.
Queen’s District RCMP say around 11 a.m., there was a collision between a cyclist and a vehicle in the Stratford area.
The cyclist was conscious but sustained injuries during the collision. He was transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for treatment and later released.
RCMP spoke to several witnesses and determined the driver of the truck involved was not at fault.
The RCMP would like to remind the traveling public that cyclists have the same rights and responsibilities as a driver of a motor vehicle and must obey the same rules when traveling on our roadways.
Cyclists, like motorists, must stop for stop signs, red lights, signal turns, yield to traffic that has the right-of-way and travel with the flow of traffic.
When riding a bicycle, you are considered a vehicle on the road. If you dismount and walk alongside your bicycle, you are considered a pedestrian and have the same rights as a pedestrian.
