PEI’s economy to grow by 1.7 per cent this year according to a Bloomberg business survey.
That will be the largest growth of any of the Atlantic Provinces.
Nova Scotia to grow by 1.5 per cent and New Brunswick at 1.2 per cent.
Alberta and B.C will lead the country at 2.9 per cent economic growth. Ontario at 2.8 per cent and Quebec and Manitoba at 2.3 per cent.
Economists have boosted Canada’s GDP forecasts as the Canadian economy improves.
All regions are expected to see the economy rise in 2018.
Alberta is making a comeback after oil dropped to $50 a barrel resulting in layoffs in the workforce and an investment freeze.It’s GDP sank by four percentage points.
The rebound is another sign Canada may retain its top spot among Group of Seven nations as economic growth diversifies away from consumer spending.
It’s still not a full recovery yet but it’s getting there.
