Prince Edward Island has the lowest Crime Severity Index in the country and Premier MacLauchlan is thanking all Island police officers for their work in keeping Islanders safe.
MacLauchlan is also the Minister of Justice and Public Safety and Attorney General.
Prince Edward Island’s police-reported Crime Severity Index has decreased for the fourth year in a row, down by 2.7 per cent in 2016. The index for violent crimes has decreased by 15.6 per cent.
Maclauchlan says police and justice partners will build on this success through integrated and intelligence-led crime prevention and improving access to justice for vulnerable Islanders.
