A witness has come forward in that case of a green laser being pointed at a commercial airline Sunday night on its’ approach to the Charlottetown Airport.
RCMP tell us a man has contacted them to say he was on Brackley Beach Sunday night between 10 and 11:30 when he saw a family with a young child between the ages of 10 and 12.
The witness told police the child was playing with a laser and pointing it at various things, including two aircraft in the area at the time. The man said the child appeared to be tracing the path of the plane with the laser and wasn’t deliberately trying to shine it in the cockpit.
RCMP say it appears it wasn’t a direct criminal act but they are cautioning adults and parents that items such as lasers are not for play or entertainment for a child since they may be unaware of the danger they can do.
