The Flyers signed first-round pick Nolan Patrick to an entry-level contract. The 18-year-old centre was selected second overall last month after playing the past three seasons for the Brandon Wheat Kings of the Western Hockey League.
Montreal’s Meaghan Benfeito is competing in the women’s 10-metre platform today at the world swimming championships in Budapest. She’ll try and match her bronze medal performance from last summer’s Rio Olympics. Meanwhile, 16-year-old Olivia Chamandy, who is also from Montreal, will make her world championship debut.
And a Massachusetts farm is honouring Tom Brady with a corn maze designed in his image. Sauchuk’s Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch in the town of Plympton said that its 10th corn maze will feature the New England Patriots’ star quarterback. The maze will open September 16th and the design was unveiled on the farm’s Facebook page
