Some much needed upgrades coming to the Point Prim Lighthouse property.
The federal government is investing over $392-thousand in non-repayable funding to the Point Prim Lighthouse Society for shoreline erosion protection and to welcome new visitors.
Nearly four acres of the property has been claimed by erosion since the construction of the lighthouse.
New washrooms, a gift shop, parking improvements and an open air pavilion will be added so more events can be hosted at the site.
At 170 years old, the Pt. Prim Lighthouse is the oldest in Prince Edward Island.
