The president of the P-E-I Strawberry Growers Association says this year’s crop is smaller than usual because of a lack of rain.
Matt Compton says it’s taking about double the usual number of strawberries to fill a box.
Despite the smaller berries, he says he’s never seen such demand for the fruit.
While he expects revenue to be down at his farm in Summerside, he says he is still counting on a successful season.
