A new bus service is in place for the summer that will run between Cavendish and Charlottetown.
The service has been set up to get people who work in the tourism trade from Charlottetown to Cavenidsh during the busy summer months.
The City Beach Express was set up by private business owners in Cavendish plus tourism promotion for both communities.
Sandi Lowther, who chairs Tourism Cavendish Beach says getting people to and from the north shore for work is important. There is a cost involved in travel and hopefully this will help offset those costs.
Lowther says there are a lot of jobs available in Cavendish this summer.
The Cavendish business owners have worked with the provincial government, Discover Charlottetown, the Resort Municipality and Tourism Cavendish Beach to create the service that will have three trips each day. There will be several pick up and drop off locations.
A round trip for visitors is $25 and $10 for workers from sponsored businesses.
The province has put $35,000 into the project.
