The Charlottetown Islanders got two strong pitching performances from Jordan Stevenson and Colin Arsenault but lost both ends of a doubleheader to the Fredericton Royals, 4-1 and 3-0. The Isles now 2-8 in the New Brunswick Senior league. They play in Moncton tonight.

Another one run loss for the Toronto Blue Jays who fell 3-2 in Kansas City as Jason Vargas got his Major League leading 11th win. Alex Gordon’s triple in the 7th was the difference. Troy Tulowitzki and Kevin Pillar homered for the Jays who fall four games under .500.
Boston and New York still tied for the A.L. East lead. The Red Sox were doubled 6-3 by the Angels who jumped ahead on Cameron Maybin’s RBI double in the 7th. He stole third and went home on a balk. That got Sox manager John Farrell ejected.
The Yankees lost 8-3 to the Texas Rangers. Rookie Aaron Judge got his major league leading 26th homer. It was the only hit given up by pitcher Austin Bibens-Dirkx.
Baltimore dropped Tampa Bay, 8-3.
Jays ace stopper Roberto Osuna is talking to a psychologist after feeling nervous and anxious mentally. He says he is fine physically and has never felt this way before. He says he’s just a little bit lost, right now.The 22 year old says feels fine while at the ball park. Manager John Gibbons gave him the day off Friday where the Jays bullpen blew a three run lead and lost 5-4 in Kansas City.
Jays pitcher Aaron Sanchez (fingernail/blister) will begin a rehab assignment on Tuesday in Dunedin in Class A in the Florida State League. He could return on Sunday, July 2 to Toronto if all goes well. He hasn’t pitched since May 19.

Junebugs Baby won the Cecil Ladner Memorial Pace at Red Shores in Charlottetown with a mile in 1.55/1. Myles Heffernan was in the bike. Marc Campbell drove three more winners and has 58 for the year at the CDP.
Racing today in Summerside with post time at 1.00 for the 12 dash card. Another battle between Mando Fun and Eagle Jolt expected in the featured 11th.
